I was here for a MDA fundraising event where part of the
beer sales from High Hops and food from Chaulkboard Gourmet express were going
to MDA.

Chaulkboard Gourmet Express at High Hops Brewery Windsor Colorado
September 18, 2014
I got the Tacos there were 6
tacos for $10 3 chicken and 3 beef tacos.
These were good tacos, kind of small but tasty. With a few salty spots and maybe a tad on the
dry side here and there.

I had been to the Bent fork before a few occasions and had a
burger and a French dip sandwich a couple of times. The French dip was
excellent, but this time I decided to get something that I normally wouldn't. When
we arrived it was just after five o'clock and the patio out front looked pretty
full, but when inside it was very empty. They asked if we wanted to sit inside
or outside, we picked inside. They said they have two levels and the lower
level which is wheelchair accessible was closed and was reserved for an event.
They did say however that they could put us in the private meeting room which
was fine with us and worked quite well. Once we were seated and had our drink
orders taken we had a bit of time to check out the menu. After a bit we were
ready to order. I got the salmon fish
and chips, which came with coleslaw and French fries with a lemon aioli. Mom
got chicken salad sandwich and coleslaw for her side. Dad got the Buffalo beer cheeseburger
with french fries for his side. After we ordered we had a bit of time to enjoy
the nice and quiet without having any other tables around us. But soon enough
the food arrived.
The fish was good salmon but I don't know if I liked it fried
like that but it did taste pretty good. The lemon aioli went very good with
this. The coleslaw for one side was actually pretty good and I don't typically
like coleslaw, but this was a good coleslaw. This had cabbage, carrots along
with green pepper and some cranberries. The fries were very good, perfectly
crisp and perfectly salty. Mom seemed to like her sandwich which looked pretty
plain but she seemed to like it. She
also very much enjoyed the coleslaw.
Dad’s burger was a half-pound of buffalo
that was covered in fat tire beer cheese with 1000 island, lettuce, tomato, and
pickles and all topped with onion rings.
This looked very good. I think he
thought it was good, but wasn't really excited about it. After we were all done
eating and paying I had a box and we were on our way out and noticed the
reserved part of the restaurant was still not being used, but I imagine it was
soon to be. If I was just reviewing the Bent Fork based on the French dip
sandwich I would probably give five stars, but all the other things I've had
dropped it just slightly.
