Mom and I were in Fort Collins and thought Thai food sounded
good so we stopped in at Bann Thai. We
were seated right away and when our waiter returned, he was also who seated us,
he recognized us from another Thai restaurant that we’ve been to a few times he
said he works at both. Then he took our orders mom ordered the pad Thai and I
ordered the drunken noodles, which I’ve never had before but wanted to try. I added a salad and an egg roll for a dollar more.
I also ordered a Pepsi which I don’t know if this is just how it is, but I never
have had at a Thai restaurant my drink order been taken ahead of time it’s always
been with the food order. Very quickly after he left he was back with my Pepsi and
the salad.
The salad was just lettuce
and shredded carrots with a peanut dressing, the dressing I thought was
actually pretty good. But only a few bites in into salad the entrées arrived
and I felt a bit rushed. Once I was done with the salad I started into my
drunken noodles.
I thought the noodles were kind of bland. I probably could’ve
ordered it with more heat and I might’ve helped but I’m not so sure if it would
have. I also didn’t like some of the
veggies there seemed to be a ton of red and green peppers. I can handle some of
these but not that many. One piece of the
basil was a stem with multiple leaves on it which was too much basil for one
bite I did however like the broccoli and carrots. Also the chicken was all
right as well. The egg roll when I eventually got to it was kind of mushy and
soggy inside. This might’ve had to do
with how long it sat there, but it still didn’t taste all that good. So after
we were done I took my left over noodles and figured I might eat them
eventually, but never really felt like it so I didn’t. Mom wasn’t too excited
about her pad Thai either. Recently I’ve been getting more and more into Thai
food, but this one I just didn’t think was all that good.
