I met a friend here for lunch at noon on a Monday and only a few others were in place. I'd only had Himalayan food once before which was at Mount Everest Café in Fort Collins and the two are owned by the same family and my friend suggested we try this place out. We were seated right away and we had time to look over the menu and not long after our waiter came to see if we were ready to order, but I wasn't quite ready. I was pretty sure what I wanted to get but wanted to look a little longer. A bit later after giving us a little bit of time our waiter was back. I ordered the chicken Tikka masala ($13) and my friend ordered some other entrée I don't remember, but he did order it with lamb and he also ordered plain naan ($ 2.50).
Soon after our Dal soup arrived which is included with the entrée. This was completely new to me. I thought it tasted kind of like split pea soup but with different spices. Then after a bit the rest of our food arrived in dishes and a basket of naan. There were already plates on the table.
My Tikka masala had an orangish color, was a bit creamy and had very good flavor and there were plenty of pretty good sized pieces of chicken. I thought this whole dish was excellent and it went very good with the rice. The Tikka masala also went perfect with the naan, kind of like a tortilla with Mexican food. After we ate for a while and we both filled up, we asked for boxes and they came back with a couple little plastic boxes for our entrées and a couple for the rice and they were very good take-out boxes. I really enjoyed my lunch here and can't wait to return the only downside of the place was it was probably a little bit on the pricey side for lunch, but I did get very good food and had plenty to take home.
