Comet chicken – Fort Collins, Colorado

October 20, 2018

I met a friend here for lunch early at 11 o’clock or so and there were only two other customers in the place at the time. We went up to the counter and I ordered the two strip combo and for my sauce I chose honey mustard. This combo came with French fries and power slaw which didn’t sound so good to me. Then we filled our drinks which I think was Boylan sodas.

I thought these were pretty good strips and I liked the fries and even though the power slaw didn’t sound so good it wasn’t too bad. The honey mustard was all right and it had a bit of a beer flavor to it. I think this place is comparable to Raising Cane‘s but I thought the chicken and the French fries were better.

Schwartz's Krautburger Kitchen – Evans Colorado

October 6, 2018

My family has been eating kraut burgers for quite a while and after I heard good things about Schwartz‘s Krautburger kitchen we had to try it out. This is a small take out only place in Evans, Colorado. Mom called ahead and picked some up. She said the place smelled really good inside. These Kraut burgers were $5.25 each.

They were pretty big with a lot of cabbage and onions along with some beef in fresh baked bread. These were really good and everyone enjoyed them.

We also tried the jalapeño cheddar version. These were all right too with a little bit of kick to them, but I think I preferred the regular version. We also got some grebble for dessert which is twisted dough with cinnamon and sugar.

Food Truck Friday: Bedrock BBQ

October 18, 2018

This was at the Centerra Food Truck Roundup.  At this event I wanted barbecue and had to choose between NoCo barbecue and Bedrock BBQ.  The Bedrock BBQ menu looked better to me.  After I saw a brisket sandwich on the menu I knew what I wanted but right before we got to the front of the line they yelled out that they were out of brisket.

There was also a pulled pork sandwich for $8.00. This was super tasty and tender pork that was delicious without sauce and was even better when I added both the sauces the regular sauce and the mustard sauce.  Both were good but I preferred the mustard sauce on this.  I really enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich but was disappointed that I couldn’t get brisket but luckily for me they also come to High Hops Brewery every Friday night.

So we went back to try to get my brisket sandwich.

This was very good brisket and I enjoyed it very much.  To this I added the regular sauce which really went well with the brisket.  I really enjoyed this brisket sandwich but I think I preferred the pulled pork sandwich.  Also on this night they had free cookies, they weren’t but you can’t beat free.
