I visited the chili house a few years ago and thought it was
time to do another review. I stopped in for lunch around 12:30. The place was
mostly empty. I had to wait momentarily, a waiter walked past and greeted me
while going past and then someone else seated me at a very nice table by the
front window. Soon after the same waiter that greeted me earlier came to take
my drink order. I ordered a Coke and soon after he returned with my Coke and I
was ready to order, so I ordered the Szechuan Sauce with chicken ($7.55) and
chose fried rice and picked hot and sour soup.
Soon after my hot and sour soup
arrived. I thought it was okay, but after a while I got kind of tired of it. It
was a bit spicy and had bamboo in tofu in it.
After just finishing up my soup
my tray of food arrived with the Szechuan chicken, fried rice, an egg roll and an
orange slice. The egg roll was your basic egg roll, nothing really special
about it. The fried rice I thought was all right it had egg in it and a few
pieces of vegetables. The Szechuan chicken was just all right too. The chicken
was decent chicken and there was plenty of sauce that was a bit spicy and I
thought tasted fairly good. Most of the vegetables were all right, but I didn’t
care for the water chestnuts or the baby corn. Soon after I finished the check
arrived as well as a fortune cookie and a to go box. I paid and I was on my way
with my leftovers. I thought that a chili house was just about average, and
everything was just about the same as I remember from my previous review. I
wouldn’t mind returning, but I won’t be going out of my way to do so.
